Legendary Names: If you are stumped from making up a name that sounds like the region your character is from, then here is a list of names (and events, places) from Ancient Greek Legend. If you wish to know more about Ancient Greek Legend and Ancient Greek Mythology, and the story behind each of these names, click on the source.

Also note that it is very common to add in part, or all, of a god's name in an Ancient Greek name, and even more common to end in "les". Such as the famous "Hercules". An older spelling of "Hercules" was "Heracles", as he conflicted against the goddess Hera (wife of Zeus) many times. Another example is the great Stoic and philosopher "Euripedes". "Eur" probably after "Euros" or "Eros", the assist to the goddess of love. Romans called him "Cupid".
