All you need to know about the Pentagram Quest

The spirits are calling you…

“The Library was especially cold.  A dusty volume has just arrived.  A volume excativated in House Macrabe by an Aisling explorer, Bentic.  It related the history of five previous occupants, the scarlet beetle, the kopfloser reiter, the Lich, the Dark Cleric, and the Nagetier.  One adventurer read in this tome of the ritual they have preformed.  It was a gruesome ritual.  Yet, more gruesome when he realized some two hundred years passed between the account of a man’s life and the account of the ritual.  He understood the ritual could be repeated.  With a sick sense of dread, yet an interminable curiosity he sought out companions that would be needed to complete the ritual:  A monk, a wizard, a priest, a rogue, and himself, a warrior.  Not any, but worldly wise adventurers of at least three score insights.  When he found the other four, he made them swear to secrecy.  Then he told them the tale and of the ritual.  He pointed out the passages in the tome.  He asked the for their agreement to a pact.  They made a pact of five, one of each of the Aisling classes.”  - Rucesion Mundane Baltasar

The Legend Begins

Ah, so you want to do the Pentagram Quest?  This guide is to help you with the common questions and problems that plague Aislings today.  Many days, I’ve seen Aislings do the Pentagram quest, but fail, due to a lack of knowledge.  This guide is by NO means an answer to the quest itself, but to give you some advice when doing it.  This guild also includes the armor possible to get there.

Starting out

As Baltasar stated, five Aislings of each class must be gathered for this quest.  They must have obtained their 60th insight at least.  The following is a range.  Each Aisling needs to be in the range of insight, otherwise, you can’t do it.

60th-69th insight

70th-79th insight

80th-89th insight

90th-98th insight

99th insight

You should all prepare for this quest.  For lower insights, you might want to stay together at all times.  That’s the best way to do it.  Make lots of beothaich deums, and get the protection spell, Aite.  You’re going to need them.  Also, a Dark Belt will help you here, because you will be going to House Macrabe and Cthonic Remains.  You will also need full labor to do this quest.  Make sure you have 2 pieces of zombie flesh.

The first place to go is the Loures library.  The wizard of your group will start the quest.  Next to the mundane Liberian is a shelf where the pact is kept.  You will all be asked to sign the pact.  Sign it if you are truly dedicated to doing this quest, otherwise leave.  Once you have signed the pact, head to House Macrabe.

The Star

Head to the left in yard 1.  You will come across a big open grave leading to Study 1.  When you enter, you should head up to the brown open box.  You will end up in a room.  The room will have a star shape on the floor, skulls being the five corners.  I will show you where to stand on the start formation.

The wizard then drops two pieces of zombie flesh two steps next to him where it will be in the star.  You will be engulfed by purple bubbles.  Everyone will move two spaces clockwise.  You should all now be in the following position.

Call on the spirit.  What class you are will depend on what spirit answers you.  The list below tells you what spirit goes with what class.

Monk - Nagetier

Priest – Dark Cleric

Rogue - Kopfloser Reiter

Warrior – Scarlet Beetle

Wizard – Lich

You will now receive a clue on where to go.  This is totally random.  I can give you a little help however.  When you find this clue, another spirit will give you another clue.  You will see the spirit.  Match this spirit up with the list above.  That is where that Aisling has to go.  For example, let’s say you are a priest and you call up the spirit and you see the Nagetier.  The clue you get goes to your monk companion.  Go to the exact spot and don’t take any short cuts.  You will have about 1-2 days to do this ((It’s about two in-real life hours)).

Important Tips

The big mistake people make is rushing through to finish the ritual.  This will most likely lead to failure.  NEVER rush.  If you have no patience, then you shouldn’t sign the pact.  The ritual is about patience and teamwork.  You all must work together and have the patience to succeed.

Another mistake I have noticed is that Aislings don’t work together.  This ritual was put together so that one depends on each other.  That mistake can cost you the whole quest.  Stick together and don’t let anyone go alone into the Cthonic Remains, especially low insight people.

Always be prepared.  Bring extra Beothaich deums, bring some brown potions, bring some arcane scrolls, etc.  You’re better off being over prepared than ill prepared.

If you can get it, have older Aislings help you.  Believe me, kind masters and 99th insight Aislings will be willing to help you.  They can guide you in the Cthonic Remains if you are lost.  It doesn’t hurt to call on help if you need it.

If someone dies, DO NOT PANIC.  Don’t get mad, upset, or feel like quitting.  Keep your cool and help that teammate.  Getting upset will do you no good; it will only make others become upset.

All the Clues come together

So you FINALLY got all the clues?  Good!  Now, once again, stand on the skulls in the first position to begin with.  The wizard should drop two pieces of zombie flesh again.  Darkness will engulf you for just a few seconds.

Out comes a brown monster!  You must defeat this monster.  Don’t worry; he’s not as hard as you might think.  With good teamwork, he will fall easily.

Now, stand on the skulls again.  The wizard should drop the zombie flesh again.  You will then receive your armor.  Congratulations!

Some other nifty things to know

The Pentagram Quest is probably the hardest quest yet.  But it’s fun!  Take a look below at the armor you can receive!

 Monk

Priest

 Rogue

 Warrior

Wizard

Currently, you do not receive a legend mark for this quest.  But I think the armor is well worth the effort.

Remember to work together, have patience, and most importantly, HAVE FUN!
