A New Beginning

All Information within this document was acquired and compiled from several journal entries and a few torn parchments found within the depths of the library in Loures castle.

I have always been interested if not drawn towards the ways of the warrior. The cries of battle and the feel of a cold steel blade gripped tightly between my fingers has always seemed to release any anger or suppressed feeling I have had hidden deep within my chest waiting to burst out. In my recent travels to the Loures library I had the chance to browse some of the oldest pieces of history known to exist and I could not pass up the chance to get my fingers on some of that information. As I sat at a table in the corner of the library reading through some old treaties I caught a glimpse of a small book being used to prop up the shortened leg of the table I could not help but pull it out to see what it was. To my surprise it was a journal of a man named Aurin D'Winter, as I read through the journal I quickly realized what I was holding... The journal of the first warrior and one of the first men to set eyes upon the land which was transformed into the town of Finach, later to be named Mileth the town we know and love. In this short but informative parchment I will try to sum up everything Aurin left in his journal.

Who was Aurin D'Winter??

Aurin was born in Danaan 1459 shortly after the drowning of Hy-brasyl, he was a student of a local blacksmith in a small village which was unnamed in his journal. Aurin mastered the arts of smithing and crafted horse shoes and other useful things which his master sold in the town. In Danaan 1473 Aurin's master died while traveling through a forest outside town, he was killed by a band of Goblins which had kept most of the villagers held up inside the safety of their small town walls. Aurin lost interest in his smithing and the more he tried to keep his mind of his dispatched master the more furious he became. Aurin was no small boy anymore, he was a full grown man. One cold winter morning the Goblins attacked the village slaying most of the townspeople and leaving nothing but destruction in their path. Aurin had never seen such horror and in the heat of the battle he threw a few supplies into his backpack and ran off into the forest in search of a safe place to hide.

Three years later Aurin D'winter settled down somewhere between what is now known as Loures and Piet in a larger town called Crescent River. He still smithed on a regular basis but found no real drive to do it as he had before. He had a pain within him for leaving his friends and family behind. He decided that he would travel forever never to settle down and always search out any evil he could find and dispatch it. He took what he had learned from his master and he smithed a great blade which he called the Craspian Blade. Loosely translated it meant the 'Blade of the Damned' for wherever he went he would always carry the burden of what he left behind.

Danaan 1499: Aurin had worked his way north across the sea fighting anything that stood in his way with a hatred that could power all the street lamps in Temuair. Nothing survived his sword.

Danaan 1500: Aurin worked his way up to what is now know as the Eastern Woodlands where he came across a group of Villagers that had been forced from their land by a group of enraged Goblins that were hell bent on the destruction of them all. He quickly offered his assistance in helping them through the Goblin infested forest and they pushed westward Aurins sword cutting down Goblins as they pushed onward. As winter hit the group of settlers were anxious to find a place to hold off until the winter storms could pass and they could once again push on. Aurin rested on a small rock face  and almost fell backwards as a deep hole was unearthed and he peered into it expecting to see a dozen Goblins rushing out them. But to their surprise the entire cavern was empty and they decided to take their luck with the cavern rather than the cold winter whether. Little did they know they had found their way into what we know now as the 'Temple of Choosing' and many of the settlers spoke of strange dreams of gods and deities speaking to them in their slumber, but all was well through the winter.

Danaan 1501: As spring settled in the trees and flowers flourished and the land seemed more and more appealing to the small band of settlers. One morning the leader of the group had a vision of a grand city crawling with busy people and told all of the group of his strange dream. Sure enough they began work on what we now know as Mileth. In one of the last journal entries Aurin said they had him give a speech to the settlers after receiving a lot of gratitude from the citizens of the new found town his last words were "I am so happy I was given the chance to help you all, I feel as though its a new beginning for me."

Three years after the founding of the town Aurin died in his sleep and was given a hero's burial.

And this is where our journey ends, in other documents of Mileth history I found had several additional facts of his life once the had settled into Finach he been involved with a woman by the name of Serina Geranthar who shortly after his death bore his child. Some of this information shocked me at first, my name being Solinox Geranthar I did some further digging and found that Serina's child, Tessa Geranthar was my Great great grandmother... Interesting none the less I must retire now, for my hand feels as though it may fall off if I dip my quill into my ink mug.
